Set in a carefully restored late 19th century Art-Nouveau style château, Capitoul offers the facilities of a luxury boutique hotel, the practicality of a villa rental, the authenticity of a working wine estate and the relaxed, yet attentive service of a private club.

Ideal for relaxing stays in this fascinating region of south-west France, Château Capitoul is just five minutes from the picturesque fishing village of Gruissan, with Mediterranean beaches close by. Inland, the historic city of Narbonne is also within easy reach, while the conservation area of La Clape is right on the doorstep. On site, guests can enjoy tennis, boules, an immense infinity pool, strolling in the spectacular gardens, or complimentary bicycles for longer trips on the estate or outside. Located in the cool cellars of the château, the hotel also boasts a spa, with an indoor pool, hot tub, aromatherapy sauna and hammam.

La Mansarde: A compact room of 15m² crafted between the beams on the 2nd floor of the Château, ideal for shorter stays and guests who are travelling light. La Mansarde still benefits from a supremely comfortable king-size bed and luxury cotton linen, en-suite bathroom and has a small window with a view over the Château courtyard. Standard Room: Located on the 2nd floor of the Château, the fully renovated standard rooms offer graceful ‘Château contemporary’ décor, supremely comfortable king-sized beds, en-suite bathroom and lovely views over the Château courtyard. Luxury Room: A taste of authentic luxury, elegant, fully renovated, spacious rooms with splendid views over the Château courtyard or surrounding vineyards. Located on the 1st floors of the Château, the luxury rooms have an average living area of 25 sq m. and can accommodate up to 2 adults and a baby (cot available free of charge). 2 guests. Luxury Suite: Oversized luxury hotel Suites situated on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Château with stunning 180° views of the lagoon, the Mediterranean, Narbonne, Les Corbières and the surrounding vineyards. Luxury self-catering villas: Full of character and contemporary luxury and inspired by local architecture, the 44 luxury self-catering villas in the hameau offer more space and independence sleeping from 2 to 10 ranging in size from 90 to 220 sq m, ideal for family holidays or gatherings with friends. Combining natural and reclaimed materials with a clever use of space and light, refined interiors take cues from both the aristocratic and agricultural heritage of the estate marrying the traditional and the modern : generous salons, high-spec kitchens, luxurious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and superb fixtures and fittings throughout. Outside, guests will find large terraces with superb views over the lagoon and vineyards, planchas, rattan sun loungers and dry gardens planted with over 100 varieties of Mediterranean plants and shrubs. Many of the properties also feature swimming pools with retractable security covers, heated from the end of May to the end of September.
