Description: Palas CerequioNestled on a hillside in the heart of the Langhe countryside, in the midst of acres of well-tended Barolo vineyards, Palas Cerequio is set in a magnificently restored and rebuilt historic farm hamlet. This delightful boutique property offers luxurious accommodation in a charming rural atmosphere.Palas Cerequio's location, just two kilometres from the pretty hilltop town of La Morra, means that it is ideal for relaxing holidays in this beautiful region of Piedmont. Surrounded by rolling countryside, with vineyards and woods, this region offers a number of important landmarks and sights. The town of Alba, with its magnificent Romanesque cathedral is less than half an hour's drive away, while the beautiful hilltop village of Montforte d'Alba is also within easy reach. As part of the Michele Chiarlo wine estate, Palas Cerequio has its own wine shop, the Palas Vertigo, with a huge cellar of 6000 bottles, mostly of the excellent Barolo "crus". Wine tastings are organised here every day. For fine dining experiences, there are myriad restaurants and taverns in a radius of thirty kilometres around the Palas, and the property's owners can direct guests to any one of these delightful establishments. For guests wishing to dine in the Palas, the hotel restaurant serves a range of delicious home made pastas, freshly grilled meat and a range of cold dishes and salads. Accomodation at Palas Cerequio consists of just nine luxurious suites, with four in the historic Baroque manor house, and five more in the spectacular modern wing, featuring minimalist décor and large, airy rooms. All suites are fully equipped with all modern amenities, and offer sweeping views of the Barolo countryside. How to get here: From Torino Caselle, Torino Centro, Ligurian coast or French Riviera: Take the A6 Autostrada in the direction of Savona or from Savona follow the road direction towards Torino. From the French Riviera reach Savona and then take the A6 Autostrada towards Torino. The nearest exit is Marene/Cherasco. Take the Marene/Cherasco exit and follow the new Autostrada towards Asti. Follow this road to the end, passing the exit for Bra and the exit for Cheraso Sud. You will come to a toll, where the exit will lead you in to a large roundabout. Go 3/4 of the way around the roundabout to the left for La Morra. Follow the signs all the way up the hill for about 7 km in to the village and just before the town of La Morra you will come to a small roundabout with an ERG petrol station just to the right (this petrol station is no longer open, in case you have to refuel stop along the way before reaching the village). Go straight on and continue to the stop sign where you will have to turn right for Barolo. Take as a reference on your right a Pizzeria called Perbacco near a bank where the road will start to descend. . On your right you will see a little square with a bar at its corner, facing the Ca ntina Mascarello which you will see on the left. Follow the road while slowing down as you will reach a small hotel called Corte Gondina, and look to your left as you pass the hotel for a little road going right into the vineyards. Palas Cerequio is at the very end of this road, in the heart of one of the most important wine regions in the world.
